Federer/Del Potro To Use New BLX Rackets In 2010

December 10, 2009 · Print This Article

Wilson is set to hand off new rackets to the world #1 and #5 Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro. Their new rackets will house Wilson’s new technology “BLX” which is said to give more “feel” to the player. The fibers of the racket are engineered from Basalt which is a natural volcanic rock.

Basalt fibers are woven longitudinally with Wilson exclusive [K]arophite Black to create the most advanced composite in the industry. Basalt added to the matrix filters the unwanted extreme frequencies in the racket. The new Wilson racquet technology delivers a cleaner feedback and better sensation.

Roger Federer will use the Six.One Tour BLX racket.

“I know Wilson will always provide me with the best racket for my game with the latest technology” Federer said. “This change will provide me with the added feel and performance I want to further enhance my game in 2010 and beyond.”

Juan Martin Del Potro will also play with a BLX and a new family of rackets. Del Potro will be on the court with the Pro Tour BLX.

I’m pretty sure those images came from Tennis Now. The water mark tells the story…DelPortologo gives proper credit…
