Will Sampras Come See Federer Break Record?

It was pretty much a lock that Fed would make the Wimbledon final, and now that he is playing a player that is more than owned (see 18-2 record), it seems like only a matter of time before Fed breaks Sampras’ record of 14 Grand Slams. When asked this week, Pete said that he was not sure whether or not he would he would go to SW19 to see the record breaking performance? Is Pistol Pete a bit bitter? Who knows, but one thing is certain, Pete should definitely be there. It is the classy thing to do and if need be (which surely in not the case),  Roger would be more than happy to throw a first class ticket Pete’s way. Perhaps Roddick will spring for the ticket, and takes some pressure off of Fed? I guess we will have to wait until Sunday.

Last Friday I wittnessed the most pathetic Grand Slam Ladies singles semifinal between Venus Williams and Dinara Safina.
Followed up on Saturday by the final between the Williams sisters
which was not much better quality tennis. How could the WTA
demand that the prize money be given to the Ladies should be the same as is given to the Gentlemen players? It boggles the mind!
Perhaps the Williams sisters could hand over half of their prize
money to Roger Federed and Andy Roddick.

Got something to say?
