Blake, Roddick Get Davis Cup Nod

July 1, 2009 · Print This Article

Even though James had an early exit this year at Wimbledon, Captain P-Mac has decided to put the former top 10 player on the roster for the US Davis Cup clash against Croatia. The move comes as bit of a surprise as Querrey and Fish were left off in favor of Blake and the two of them had been playing much better than Blake of late excluding Queen’s. The doubles duty will go to the Bryan brothers. They will be playing in Porec, Croatia on an indoor clay court against amongst others Ivo Karlovic. The Croatian team is the only team to have a winning record against the Americans as they have won their previous two meetings.
